This part of settings allows you to adjust the program interface and other general settings.

Check for updates every week |
Check for LanTalk NET updates every week. We recommend you to enable this option to be sure you have the latest version of Lantalk NET. There is no need to enable this option on all computers, it would be enough to enable it on the network administrator's computer. |
LanTalk NET window always on top |
Always show the LanTalk NET window on top. |
Minimize window after deletion of the last message |
Minimize the LanTalk NET window as soon as the last message is deleted. |
Enable global hotkey for LanTalk.NET ( Ctrl+F11 ) |
Enable the global hotkey. Working in any application, you can call the LanTalk NET window by pressing Ctrl+F11. |
Interface in IM style |
Use new and experimental IM style interface. You can switch the interface from the Tools menu as well. |
Message editor with history preview |
Enable talk history preview (as in most IM clients). When replying to a sender or creating a new message LanTalk NET will perform fast searching in the database and will find the latest messages sent from/to the client. |
Enter key sends the message in Message Editor |
Allows you to use Enter key to send the message instead of Ctrl+Enter. Use Ctrl+Enter to add new line into the message. |

New normal-priority message sound |
The sound, which will be played when a message with normal priority is received. The sound can be disabled by selecting the No Sound option. If you want to set your own sound files (*.wav), copy them to the folder /LanTalk NET/Sounds/. |
New high-priority message sound |
The sound, which will be played when a message with high priority is received. |
New low-priority message sound |
The sound, which will be played when a message with low priority is received. |
New normal-priority message popup |
Defines whether the LanTalk NET window should be displayed right after a message with normal priority is received.

Use system beeper for sound notifications |
Use the system beeper instead of sounds (appropriate if there is no soundcard). The beeper sounds differ depending on message priority.
High tone can be set for high-priority messages; low tone can be set for low-priority
messages. Also, sound duration may depend on message priority (the higher priority
is, the longer the sound would be). |
Do not show more than one new message |
LanTalk.NET will not show each new message automatically, only the first one ( until you'll mark new message as read ). |
